ACT is dedicated to enabling and empowering people and businesses to achieve their full potential, to find fulfillment, happiness and freedom in achieving their goals.

ACT(Achieve Coaching & Training Limited) was founded by me, Neil Ashby, following a career in Sales, Marketing and Business Development spanning 25 years.

I've had a varied and interesting career, succeeding in many different roles, although after a while, I would get the feeling that there was something missing; I was not doing what I was supposed to do.

That thought 'something missing' was a bit of a theme in my life - certainly, although I was successful, I didn't really have the feeling of achieving, of being fulfilled.

I was always curious though, wanting to know what made things work (I once tried to build a perpetual motion machine in my Dad's workshop!)

I was also curious about people; what makes us who we are?

When I was at school, I envied my friends who just knew what they wanted to do, or be in life. I didn't know what I wanted. Having completed my A levels, I was keen to get a job, any job, to earn money to go out friends, etc. Now my Father said "well son, if you don't know what it is you want to do, why not go to University  - it will help you get a better job later on", - so I did.

I went to University and achieved a good degree in Engineering (satisfying my curiosity of how physical things work (or satisfying my Father who was also a Mechanical Engineer?).

After finishing University I went back-packing around the Greek Islands for a few months, meeting loads of interesting people from all over the world, and I'd sit and explore the meaning of life and everything with them, with their different perspectives, backgrounds and cultures to mine; seeing it all from a different point of view.

As I was returning to the UK through Athens, one evening I walked to the top of the hill to the Acropolis, and there, in the warmth of the summer evening, the noise of the city a distant sound below, the lights flickering like the stars above in the clear indigo night sky, it came to me - a sense of who I really was..

Perhaps I wasn't just the 'left brain' scientist I'd been brought up to be (after all, I did win an art competition when I was in primary school!). Engineering wasn't me, I was more than that. I wanted to be working  / interacting with people, because that was where my real interest lay.

Shortly after returning to England, I took a job in Sales.

Sales training those days was 'Attention, Interest, Desire, Action'! - get your foot in the door and sell what's in your bag. It wasn't too long before I got that feeling again  - 'something is missing' there is more to learn.

I found a solution in Marketing; 'identifying and satisfying customer needs' - this felt more congruent for me - actually finding out what the customer wanted, needed!

I studied Marketing, and have been for many years a Chartered Marketer through the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

At the same time I continued my curiosity, my search to find 'myself', and my interest in people, cultures and society, and what makes us the way we are.

A few years ago, I returned to that place, to the Acropolis, and as I sat there again, I heard myself inside - there was 'something missing'. And as I listened, I finally understood.

I realised my values, purpose, mission in life is to enable people to be everything they dream of being - to facilitate others to empower themselves to achieve their goals, to find purpose, achievement, congruence, alignment, happiness and freedom.

Since then I have been dedicated to discovering the tools and secrets to enabling and empowering achievement, studying Psychology, NLP, Therapy, Business Coaching and Mentoring.

Today, ACT is dedicated to enabling and empowering people and businesses to achieve their full potential, to find fulfillment, happiness and freedom in achieving their goals.
